My grandmother has always wanted to take a long trip on a train. Although she was perfectly content with taking the train from one end of North Dakota to the other, my family disagreed. So my mother, two aunts and great aunt decided to surprise her with a trip out to Seattle. From there we rented a van and drove down to check out Multnomah Falls, spending the night in Portland. Next we headed to Newport Oregon and jumped on Highway 101 headed north. We looped up through the Olympic Peninsula spending nights in Seaside Oregon and Port Angeles Washington, not to mention all the stops along the way.
